About the role

Centreway Medical Centre is seeking a friendly and organised Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis. This is an essential front-line position located in Keilor East VIC 3033, where you will be the first point of contact for our patients and a vital member of our healthcare administration team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clinic runs smoothly, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the medical staff in delivering quality patient care. This casual role offers flexibility whilst allowing you to make a meaningful contribution to our practice.

What you'll be doing

- Greeting patients in a warm and professional manner, managing patient arrivals and departures

- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments using our booking system, and managing appointment changes or cancellations

- Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members

- Processing patient registrations and updating patient records with accurate information

- - Managing patient documentation, including filing medical records and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations

- Maintaining reception area cleanliness and ensuring waiting areas are welcoming and well-stocked with necessary materials

- Providing general administrative support to medical practitioners and clinical staff as required

- Handling patient enquiries regarding services, fees, and medical procedures in a professional and empathetic manner

What we're looking for

- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administration role is highly desirable

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and external stakeholders





- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment

- Proficiency in using reception software and electronic health record (EHR) systems

- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and practice management systems

- Sound knowledge of privacy regulations and medical confidentiality requirements

- A professional appearance and courteous telephone manner

- Reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail in administrative tasks

- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is beneficial

- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one is desirable
