Cowan Welding & Fabrication Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Welder to join our dynamic team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on diverse welding projects in a professional and collaborative environment. You will be responsible for performing high-quality welding work across various materials and applications, contributing to the successful completion of our fabrication projects. This role is based on-site at our Wagga Wagga facility, where you will have the chance to develop your technical expertise whilst working with industry-standard equipment and alongside skilled tradespeople.

Key responsibilities

- Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding on a range of materials
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and welding specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Prepare materials and work areas for welding, including cleaning, cutting and positioning components as needed
- Inspect completed welds for quality, strength and adherence to industry standards and specifications
- Maintain and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures on site, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and maintain productivity standards
- Document work completed and report any issues or concerns to management promptly

What we're looking for

- Current or recent welding qualifications relevant to the trades and services industry,



such as certification in MIG, TIG or stick welding
- Previous Body Building experience would be beneficial
- Proven experience working as a welder in a commercial or industrial environment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and welding specifications
- Strong understanding of welding safety standards
- Ability to work accurately and maintain high-quality standards under pressure
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team
- Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and working in various positions
- A valid driver's licence is necessary
