Anglicare Victoria is launching a new statewide Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) service supporting participants involved in Victoria’s therapeutic court programs, including the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) and Court Integrated Services Program (CISP).
We are seeking an experienced AOD Clinician, delivering specialist AOD interventions across Mildura.
This is an opportunity for a clinician who enjoys autonomy, variety and relationship-based practice. Providing evidence-informed AOD support to people experiencing substance use challenges, mental health concerns and complex life circumstances.
You will have the opportunity to build a new way of working combining clinical expertise, outreach practice and therapeutic justice to support people to make meaningful change.
What is ARC and CISP?
ARC and CISP provide support to people involved in the justice system by addressing the underlying challenges that can contribute to ongoing offending, including alcohol and other drug use, mental health concerns, housing instability and social disadvantage.
You will work with participants referred through the courts and provide flexible service delivery based on individual circumstances through face-to-face appointments, outreach, telephone and online engagement.
This role is suited to clinicians who enjoy working independently,
adapting their approach and building robust relationships across different services and communities.
About You
You are an experienced AOD clinician who enjoys variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a difference through flexible service delivery.
You will bring:
- Experience delivering alcohol and other drug assessment, counselling and treatment interventions.
- Strong understanding of AOD practice, dual diagnosis, harm minimisation and recovery approaches.
- Confidence engaging people experiencing complex challenges, trauma and disadvantage.
- Strong assessment, formulation and treatment planning skills.
- Ability to build relationships across courts, community services and multidisciplinary teams.
- Confidence working independently, managing competing priorities and travelling between locations.
Previous court experience is not required. We are looking for clinicians who are curious, adaptable and motivated by the opportunity to apply their skills in a new therapeutic justice environment.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Community Services or related discipline.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Experience working with complex needs, justice-involved populations or community-based services.
- Experience delivering outreach or mobile service models.
- Understanding of therapeutic justice approaches.
