Hay Street Medical require a senior EXPERIENCED permanent part-time Medical Receptionist to join our team .
Our Reception team are highly valued, being the front line of our service to patients and setting the mood for the patient's experience. You are also the voice of our Practice on the phone.
You will have the skills to create a professional and caring impression on every occasion, whether in person or over the phone. You will have a desire to do your job professionally in a fast paced environment.
Our team includes 5 General Practitioners, 2 Registered Nurses, Dietician and Audiologist. The surgery is open 8am - 6pm Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm Friday and Saturday 8.30 -1pm
We aim to be family and study friendly and are happy to work with your situation where possible.
Specific days and hours will discussed at your interview - there is some flexibility with these.
Duties and Responsibilities will include
- Welcoming patients to the practice
- Answering and making phone calls in a fast paced setting
- Manage the online appointment book
- Process payments, perform banking duties and Medicare claiming
- Send and receive electronic correspondence
- Basic triage of patients to assess wellness, infection control and urgency of appointment
- Preparing doctors and nurses rooms for the day
To succeed in this role, you will have
- Ideally, current experience in GP Medical Reception with excellent communication skills
- IT proficiency include Excel - all patient records are computer based
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
- Attention to detail and time management skills essential
- Experienced with Best Practice and GP Medicare item numbers
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to accept and adapt to change in a positive and constructive manner
- Ability to work without supervision
- Support and participate in ongoing job related learning and development
- Strong, proven ability to multi-task and experience working in a fast paced environment
