Car Mechanic & Diesel Fitter / Truck Mechanic
All Budget Tyres & Mechanical | Toowoomba, QLD

All Budget Tyres & Mechanical is seeking experienced, qualified tradespeople to join our workshop. We service and repair cars and trucks and supply and fit tyres.

We have two separate roles available. We will also consider one person for a combined role if they have the relevant qualifications and experience in both areas.

Roles and qualifications

1. Car Mechanic

- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a relevant equivalent qualification.

- Experience independently diagnosing, servicing and repairing cars and light vehicles.

2. Diesel Fitter / Truck Mechanic

- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a relevant equivalent trade qualification.

- Experience independently diagnosing, servicing and repairing trucks.

Your responsibilities

You will take the lead in your area and complete work independently, with support from trade assistants. Duties include:

- Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical repairs.

- Performing servicing and preventative maintenance.

- Checking completed work for safety and quality.

- Organising your workload and guiding trade assistants.

- Keeping the workshop clean, safe and organised.

- Helping with tyre fitting and other workshop duties when your workload allows or other areas are busy, within your skills and training.

- Relevant trade qualifications and practical experience.

- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for your work.

- Reliability, honest communication and pride in quality workmanship.

- A team attitude and willingness to help around the workshop.

- Current Australian work rights.





Applicants must already be living in Australia. Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred. Visa holders with valid work rights suitable for the role will also be considered.

Experienced and semi-retired applicants welcome

We welcome applications from experienced mechanics who are semi-retired or planning to retire in the next few years. Your knowledge and ability to guide our team would be highly valued.

For the right candidate, we are open to discussing additional retirement-related advantages after 4–5 years of service, with details to be mutually agreed in writing.

- Pay in accordance with the applicable award and classification, plus superannuation and applicable overtime, penalties and allowances.

- Pay reviews based on your skills, performance, reliability and contribution.

Possible future sponsorship: We may consider sponsorship for the right candidate after 1–2 years of employment, once we have assessed their work, reliability and suitability. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will depend on business needs and the eligibility requirements applying at that time. You must maintain valid work rights throughout your employment.
