Application Requirement: A cover letter that describes a specific example of when you have brought together workforce, financial and/or operational data from multiple sources to identify workforce trends or pressures and support a workforce planning decision. Locations: Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide

Use your workforce analytics expertise to influence organisation-wide workforce planning and decision-making. Hays is partnering with a large, complex Federal Government organisation seeking an experienced Senior Workforce Analytics & Planning Specialist to support an enterprise-wide workforce planning capability. This is not simply a reporting role. You'll bring together workforce, financial and operational data, identify trends and workforce pressures, test future workforce scenarios and turn complex information into clear insights for senior decision-makers.

Essential requirements
To be considered, you must demonstrate:

- Strong workforce analytics capability, including analysing workforce demand, supply, vacancies, recruitment, workforce movement and workforce composition.
- Demonstrated experience collecting, cleansing, validating and reconciling complex data from multiple sources.
- Experience analysing workforce and financial data and translating findings into meaningful insights.
- Strong reporting and visualisation capability,

including producing explicit analytical summaries for senior stakeholders.
- Experience with forecasting, scenario modelling, trend analysis and assumptions management.
- Ability to identify data discrepancies, investigate data-quality issues and establish reliable, repeatable reporting processes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly working across HR/People & Culture, Finance, operational teams and data owners.

Highly desirable

- Experience within a large and complex organisation.
- Federal Government or broader public-sector workforce analytics/planning experience.
- Experience supporting strategic or enterprise workforce planning.
- Exposure to MYEFO, budgeting or workforce cost analysis.
- Experience integrating workforce, financial and operational datasets.
- Relevant qualifications in data analytics, statistics, economics, finance, workforce planning, HR, information systems or a related discipline.

The key differentiator
We are particularly interested in candidates who can do more than simply produce reports and dashboards.
The strongest candidates will demonstrate the ability to bring together disparate workforce and financial data, interrogate and validate it, identify emerging workforce pressures, model future scenarios and translate the findings into clear, decision-ready workforce insights.

What you need to do now
If you're looking for your next challenge, I'd love to hear from you.
