About the role

We are seeking a talented Property Valuer to join our growing team at Fox Valuations in Melbourne, VIC. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to develop your valuation expertise whilst working on a diverse portfolio of property assessments. You will play a crucial role in our business by conducting professional property valuations that inform important financial and legal decisions for our clients. This position offers the chance to work with a supportive team in a dynamic property market, with exposure to varied property types and valuation methodologies.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive property valuations for residential, commercial and industrial properties using recognised valuation methods and standards

- Inspect properties and assess their condition, features and market position to determine accurate valuations

- Research and analyse market data, comparable sales and property trends to support valuation conclusions

- Prepare detailed and professional valuation reports that clearly communicate findings and methodologies to clients

- Liaise with clients, real estate agents, mortgage brokers and legal professionals to understand valuation requirements and provide timely delivery

- Maintain accurate records of all valuations and ensure compliance with Australian Valuation Standards and professional guidelines

- Stay current with property market conditions, regulatory changes and valuation techniques relevant to the Melbourne market





- Contribute to the development and maintenance of valuation databases and property information systems

What we're looking for

- Tertiary qualification in property valuation, surveying, real estate or a related discipline

- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Australian Property Institute (API) or equivalent professional body

- Demonstrated experience conducting property valuations across residential real estate, including existing dwellings, construction valuations and progress reports

- Strong knowledge of valuation methodologies including comparison, cost and income approaches

- Proficiency in using valuation software and property data systems

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, professional reports

- Sound understanding of property law, finance and the Australian Valuation Standards

- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients

- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel for property inspections across the Melbourne region

- Preferred: Experience in the Melbourne property market and familiarity with local council and planning requirements
