elka bakery is looking for an experienced pastry chef to join our growing team!

elka has established a reputation for great quality sourdough bread and pastries within our local communities.

As the head pastry chef, you will work directly with the head baker and owner in leading the direction of the business. You will lead the pastry team in the planning, preparation and baking of all pastries.

Qualifications & experience

- Proven record of innovation

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Excellent food hygiene standards

Tasks & responsibilities

- Leading the planning, production and preparation for the weeks and months schedule

- Upholding cleanliness of the premises

- Excellent knowledge of the industry and the ability to innovate and create new products

- Preparation and rotation of ingredients for daily production

- Other general duties as required such as cleaning

- The work involves early morning starts and availability to work a seven days rotating roster.
