HMPS Propac

Adelaide Airport

Introduction:
HMPS designs and builds the automation that packs, wraps and palletises products for some of the country's biggest food and beverage manufacturers. We're growing quick, here and in export markets, and we want a recent or soon-to-be engineering graduate to join our Adelaide service team.

Description:
Most graduate roles keep you behind a desk working on one small piece of a project. This one gets you close to the machines. You'll learn how our equipment is built, how it runs in the field, what breaks, what customers need, and how the whole business fits together. It's a practical start, and for the right person it leads into engineering, automation, design or sales.

The Role

You'll be at the centre of our service operation. You'll work with our Product Service Manager, field service technicians, stores and customers to keep jobs moving, from the first customer call through to close-out.

What You'll Be Doing

- Identifying and sourcing the right parts for customer machines, then managing the order through to dispatch
- Learning our machines through their parts lists, drawings and service history
- Raising sales orders and invoices so every job and part is captured
- Supporting technical quotes and planning preventative maintenance
- Coordinating service requests between customers, technicians and our engineering team
- Tracking jobs to completion and following up on anything outstanding
- Keeping records accurate and processes tight

Where It Can Take You

In this role you'll see the whole business: the machines, the parts, the customers and the engineers who design them. That's a foundation most graduates don't get.

You'll build hands-on technical knowledge and real commercial experience at the same time. We back people who show drive, and this role can lead to:

- Engineering and automation: machine builds, controls and commissioning
- Design: developing the next generation of HMPS machinery
- Sales: helping customers solve packaging problems with turnkey automation

We support that with job shadowing, leadership development, external training and financial help with further tertiary study.

About You

- You've recently finished, or are about to finish, a degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, manufacturing or a related field of engineering
- You're curious about how machines work and want to get hands-on early
- You're organised and can juggle several jobs at once without dropping any
- You communicate clearly with customers, technicians and engineers
- You pick up new systems quickly (ERP experience is a bonus, not a requirement)
- Workshop, trade or vacation placement experience is welcome

No packaging industry experience needed. We'll teach you the machines.
