Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Flexible working available

Pay rates:

- APS6 Senior Investigator: $76.36 per hour + super
- EL1 Lead Investigator: $92.89 per hour + super

Investigator to join a Federal Government agency in Sydney.

The opportunities

APS6 Senior Investigator – Multiple Positions

Responsible for conducting complex and sensitive investigations in accordance with Australian Government Investigation Standards.

Key responsibilities include

- Conduct complex investigations involving suspected fraud and non-compliance.
- Undertake interviews, collect evidence and prepare investigation reports and briefs.
- Analyse findings, identify breaches and provide recommendations.
- Liaise with law enforcement, government agencies and key stakeholders.
- Support court proceedings and operational investigations as required.

EL1 Lead Investigator – Leadership Opportunity Responsible for leading investigative teams, overseeing complex cases and supporting fraud prevention and compliance initiatives.

Key responsibilities include

- Lead, mentor and oversee a team of investigators.




- Manage complex investigations, evidence collection and quality assurance.
- Provide strategic investigative advice and risk management recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement across investigative processes and payment integrity.
- Maintain relationships with law enforcement, regulatory bodies and government stakeholders.

About you To be successful, you will bring:

- Experience conducting complex investigations within government, law enforcement, compliance or regulatory environments.
- Solid knowledge of investigative procedures, evidence management and case preparation.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and sound judgement.

APS6 applicants: Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent investigative capability, with experience independently managing complex cases. EL1 applicants: Proven leadership experience managing investigation teams, providing strategic advice and engaging senior stakeholders.

Mandatory requirements

- Australian citizenship is essential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check.
- APS6: Eligibility for NV1 security clearance.
- EL1: Eligibility for Baseline security clearance.
- Additional suitability assessments may be required.
