Canberra
Our client is a large Australian Government department with a national footprint and a dedicated ICT services division that keeps the department running 24/7.
The division delivers secure, modern ICT services and works closely with business areas across the department to deliver solutions that are consistent nationally and bring real advantages to the organisation.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an Aurion Technical Specialist to join the Aurion Systems Team on a contract basis in Canberra. You'll be the hands-on Aurion expert helping to deliver Enterprise Agreement changes and the Aurion roadmap, working across both day-to-day support and system enhancements.
- Work across the full Aurion suite, not just one module, so no two weeks look the same.
- Play a central part in Enterprise Agreement implementation, a high-visibility piece of work with real impact on staff pay and conditions.
- Shape improvements in compliance, data quality, reporting and integrations, rather than simply keeping the lights on.
- Join a collaborative hybrid team of APS staff and contractors who value your expertise.
- Share your know-how and leave a lasting legacy by building APS capability.
The Role You'll configure, enhance and support Aurion HR and payroll capabilities from requirements through to production.
- Analyse business and technical requirements and assess impacts across Aurion modules and integrations.
- Design, configure and maintain Aurion across Payroll, Core HR, Organisation and Position Management, Leave, Timekeeper, Security, Workflow, Reporting and Self-Service.
- Configure payroll rules and Enterprise Agreement conditions in line with legislative and departmental requirements.
- Support interfaces and data exchanges with connected systems.
- Undertake data analysis, remediation,
reconciliation and migration.
- Prepare technical specifications and keep solution and operational documentation up to date.
- Support upgrades, releases and environment management.
- Develop and run unit and system testing, and support user acceptance testing and payroll assurance.
- Investigate and resolve complex incidents and defects, making sure changes are controlled and traceable.
- Work with HR and payroll teams, architects, integration and security specialists and the Aurion vendor.
- Contribute to release planning and advise on technical risks and dependencies.
- Transfer knowledge to APS staff through mentoring and practical support.
The Ideal Person You know Aurion inside and out, and you're the person colleagues turn to when a payroll rule or integration isn't behaving. You enjoy solving complex problems, explaining technical detail in plain English, and leaving a team more capable than you found it.
You will bring the following skills and experience:
- Advanced, hands-on Aurion configuration and administration across at least three modules (e.g. Payroll, Core HR, Leave, Timekeeper, Organisation and Position Management, Security, Workflow, Reporting or Self-Service).
- Proven HR and payroll data migration experience, from profiling and mapping through to reconciliation and cutover.
- Strong knowledge of Aurion data structures and the Query Tool,
plus experience with forms, workflows, batches or Business Process Automation.
- Experience supporting Aurion interfaces, integrations and data exchanges.
- A track record delivering upgrades and releases through controlled environments to production, including testing and defect resolution.
- Confident stakeholder engagement across HR, payroll, ICT and vendor teams, with clear technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
- Australian citizenship and a Baseline security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Experience implementing Australian Government Enterprise Agreement, payroll, superannuation, taxation or other legislative changes in Aurion.
- Experience with advanced Aurion capabilities such as Business Process Automation and Timekeeper.
- Experience in Australian Government ICT environments, including security, privacy, audit, records management and change control.
- Experience using Azure DevOps and ServiceNow to manage work items, releases, incidents, changes and defects.
Salary
- $90 - $110 per hour pus Super
- 12 month contract with options to extend
- Based in Canberra with hybrid working arrangements available
