IAA Australia, part of global marketplace leader Ritchie Bros., is looking for a Auction Valuer (Salvage) to join our growing salvage team. This is a highly autonomous, national-level role with real scope to shape how we value vehicles across the country — and no, you won’t need to go stand in a yard to do it. Every valuation is completed through our online portal, so this role is fully computer-based and flexible on location.

What You’ll Do Valuation & Market Analysis

- Conduct salvage valuations across vehicles, heavy salvage, caravans and marine using auction data, market trends, and proprietary pricing tools
- Meet accuracy benchmarks and SLA turnaround times
- Stay on top of market conditions and auction trends

Collaboration & Insights

- Partner with Remarketing, Sales, and Operations to keep valuations aligned with business and customer needs




- Provide valuation insights to support internal decisions and customer conversations
- Supply buy prices for denied claim vehicles and support pricing strategy for auction outcomes

Systems & Continuous Improvement

- Maintain and improve the IAA AU Vehicle Database
- Help build out the AU pricing guide and refine valuation methodology over time
- Ensure compliance with company policy and industry standards

About You

- Experience valuing vehicles — salvage valuation experience is a solid plus, but we’re also keen to hear from people with strong vehicle valuation, dealer trade, or insurance assessing backgrounds
- A sharp eye for identifying vehicle spec level and condition
- Comfortable interpreting auction data and pricing models
- Strong communicator who can work confidently across teams
