Who We Are

We're an online tutoring company specialising in personalised, one-on-one teaching, with more than 300 registered teachers on our team. We support students with senior secondary exam preparation for HSC, VCE, QCE, WACE and SACE, Year 1-10 English reading and writing, Maths and Science, and preparation for Selective Entry and Scholarship exams.

The Role: Online 1-on-1 Bilingual Tutors for All Subjects

We're looking for bilingual educators who teach confidently in English and communicate fluently in Mandarin. Many of our students and their families are most comfortable in Mandarin, so being able to explain ideas in both languages makes a real difference to how quickly they progress.

Subjects you may teach

English

- Year 1-10 English: reading, writing and comprehension
- Year 11-12 English and EAL/D (HSC, VCE, QCE, WACE and SACE)

Mathematics

- Year 1-10 Mathematics
- Year 11-12 Mathematics, including:
- HSC Mathematics Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2
- VCE, QCE and SACE General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics
- WACE Mathematics Applications, Methods and Specialist

Science

- Year 7-10 Science
- Year 11-12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Other Areas

- Chinese (Mandarin) language, including senior secondary Chinese courses
- Selective Entry and Scholarship exam preparation

Our students include Australian-born students, some with English as their first language and others learning English as an additional language (EAL), as well as international students from China.

What You'll Do

- Teach one-on-one online lessons, using English and Mandarin as needed to help students understand
- Follow the lesson plan we prepare for each student
- Support students with homework and exam preparation
- Encourage and motivate your students
- In-person lessons at a student's home or a local library are also available, if you'd like them

What We're Looking For

- Excellent spoken Mandarin, as many of our students and their families feel most comfortable in Mandarin
- Clear, confident communication in English
- Solid knowledge and expertise in the subject(s) you'd like to teach
- A degree in teaching or education is highly regarded, but not essential
- Experience teaching in Australian schools is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with senior secondary syllabuses and assessment structures (HSC, VCE, QCE, WACE or SACE) is a plus
- Reliable weekly availability and a professional approach to teaching
- A stable internet connection and comfort with online teaching tools
