About the Role An established building surveying consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join its Tasmanian team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of predominantly commercial projects while providing practical compliance advice and supporting junior team members.

The role can be based in either Hobart or Launceston, with a flexible hybrid arrangement allowing you to work from home for half of each fortnight.

Duties

- Manage commercial and residential projects from commencement through to completion

- Undertake regulatory and compliance assessments across all project stages

- Assess documentation against the NCC, Tasmanian legislation and relevant Australian Standards

- Prepare and facilitate building permits, occupancy permits and associated documentation

- Attend site inspections and design meetings as required

- Provide clear and practical technical advice to clients and project stakeholders

- Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge

- Support business growth and identify opportunities to improve internal processes

About You

- Qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline





- Licensed in Tasmania as a Building Surveyor Unlimited or Building Surveyor Limited

- Building Surveyor Limited applicants must have strong large-scale commercial project experience

- Unlicensed applicants may be considered if they can demonstrate a clear pathway to Tasmanian registration

- Ideally five or more years of relevant building surveying experience

- Strong knowledge of the NCC, Tasmanian Building Act, Building Regulations and Australian Standards

- Familiarity with the Building Surveyors Code of Practice in Tasmania

- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills

- Current driver’s licence
