Welcome to Salt and Oak, where the sea meets the depth of oak-aged whisky.

Located on West Coast Highway in North Beach, and overlooking the Indian Ocean, Salt and Oak offers a dining experience that celebrates the best of land and ocean. We offer a casual coastal breakfast menu and delicious coffee during the day, then by night our menu blends fresh, contemporary plates with refined classics, designed to be enjoyed with friends, family and a glass of something exceptional.

We're open 7 days a week - Monday to Friday from 6am to 3pm, then open up our dinner service from Thursday through Sunday, opening 6am until late.

Casual Chefs

As the weather is warming up, we are increasing our Kitchen team to prepare for the summer rush.

We have a number of Casual Chef positions available for Commis, Demi's and CDP's, paying Restaurant Industry Award rates.

About the Role

Working closely with our Head Chef and kitchen leadership team, you will:

- Prepare and present dishes to a consistently high standard
- Work across multiple kitchen sections
- Maintain food quality, presentation, and portion control




- Follow food safety and hygiene requirements
- Assist with stock rotation and minimising waste
- Contribute to a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen
- Help deliver outstanding dining experiences for our guests

About You

You will have

- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
- Trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- The ability to remain calm under pressure during busy services
- A team-first mindset
- Availability across evenings, weekends, and public holidays
