Bean & Base Cafe, a busy cafe and woodfired pizza bar at 159 Melbourne Road, Rippleside VIC 3215, is looking for an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full time basis.

About the role

You will lead day-to-day food production and help shape our menu, working closely with management and front-of-house staff to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.

Key responsibilities

- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Preparing and cooking food
- Explaining and enforcing food hygiene and safety regulations
- Selecting and training kitchen staff where required




- Freezing and preserving foods where required

Requirements

- Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Diploma of Hospitality Management
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Chef, gained after completing your qualifications
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Flexibility to work a roster including weekends and public holidays

Salary and conditions

- $80,000 to $82,000 per annum plus superannuation
- Full-time, ongoing position

Pay: $80,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
