Role Description The Chief LLM Architect Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC, responsible for defining and leading the technical strategy for TravelFlap’s AI and large language model (LLM) platforms. This role involves architecting end-to-end LLM solutions that power search, recommendations, customer support, personalization, and dynamic pricing across TravelFlap’s global travel ecosystem. The position includes overseeing model selection, fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment pipelines,



while integrating LLMs with existing SaaS travel products, booking engines, and partner platforms.

The Chief LLM Architect Engineer will collaborate closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable AI architectures. Day-to-day tasks include leading technical design reviews, mentoring engineering teams, ensuring security and compliance of AI systems, and continuously optimizing performance, reliability, and cost of production LLM, VLM services.

Qualifications

- Solid architecture skills in designing scalable, secure, and reliable AI/ML and LLM-based systems, including cloud-native microservices and data pipelines.
- Proficiency in project management, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, risk management, and delivery of complex technical initiatives.
- Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary environments, demonstrating effective teamwork, cross-functional communication, and mentorship of technical teams.
- Domain knowledge relevant to engineering complex systems (e.g., software engineering foundations, systems design, and integration of AI services into large platforms).
- Advanced expertise in LLMs and NLP, including prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment (experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar is beneficial).
- Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Digital Ocean, Jenkins, RAG, Agentic AI, Tokens, NLP, VLM, LLM, LCM, LAM Models
