The Victorian Psychology Clinic | Essendon & Moonee Ponds

The Victorian Psychology Clinic (VPC) is a vibrant and growing psychology practice with two established locations in Essendon and Moonee Ponds. Since opening in July 2023, VPC has expanded rapidly and is now home to a team of 20+ psychologists providing evidence-based care across the lifespan. Directed by Clinical Psychologist, Dr Shara Granger, and supported by our Business Operations Manager and dedicated Client Relations Team, VPC is committed to clinical excellence, ethical practice and a warm, collaborative team culture.

We are seeking an experienced psychologist to join our growing team in a flexible onsite contractor position.

About the Role

This is a flexible contracting position, suitable for a psychologist seeking to work onsite across one of our clinic locations in Essendon and Moonee Ponds.

We welcome applications from

- Clinical Psychologists
- Psychologists with other relevant areas of endorsement
- Generally registered psychologists

This role is best suited to a psychologist who is confident working independently within a supportive private practice environment. We are looking for someone who is experienced, client-centred, ethical and interested in being part of a connected team.



Please note that this position is not suitable for provisional psychologists seeking a 5+1 internship placement or psychologists requiring onsite supervision as part of the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program. Applicants undertaking the registrar program with external supervision arrangements are welcome to apply. The position is also not suitable for those seeking telehealth-only work. Some after-hours availability is favourable.

Our Client Base

VPC provides evidence-based psychological care to children, adolescents, adults and couples, across a broad range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, eating disorders, stress, adjustment difficulties, relationship issues and other high-prevalence mental health concerns.

We are particularly interested in hearing from psychologists with experience or interest in one or more of the following areas:

- EMDR
- PTSD and trauma-focused therapy
- Eating disorders
- Child, adolescent or paediatric presentations
- Neurodivergence
- Couples counselling

These areas are desirable, but not mandatory. We are also very open to experienced psychologists who want to build a caseload aligned with their clinical strengths. Why Join VPC?

What We’re Looking For The successful applicant will have:

- Full, unrestricted AHPRA registration as a psychologist
- Eligibility to provide services under Medicare
- Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
- ABN, or willingness to obtain one
- Relevant postgraduate clinical experience
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance appropriate for private practice
- Strong clinical experience in private practice, community, hospital or other relevant mental health settings
- A client-centred and evidence-based approach to therapy
- The ability to work independently while remaining connected to a broader team
- Strong communication and qualified boundaries
- A warm, ethical and collaborative approach
- Availability to work onsite at Essendon or Moonee Ponds
- Some after-hours availability, which is favourable but not essential
