About the opportunity

Are you a recent university graduate looking to start your career in international logistics and supply chain?

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Customer Service Assistant to join our Melbourne team.

Previous freight forwarding experience is not required. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, strong communication skills, attention to detail and, most importantly, a willingness to learn.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the international freight forwarding industry while learning from an experienced team within a global logistics organisation.

You will be introduced to the complete freight forwarding process and develop practical knowledge of how international shipments are managed, from receiving a customer booking through to documentation, customs coordination, delivery and invoicing.

What you will be doing

With training and support from the team, your responsibilities will gradually include:

- Supporting the Customer Service team with the day-to-day management of customer shipments.

- Communicating with customers and providing friendly, professional and timely updates.

- Assisting with import and export freight bookings.

- Learning how international ocean freight and airfreight shipments are coordinated.

- Assisting with shipping documentation and data entry.

- Supporting customs clearance and delivery coordination.

- Liaising with internal teams, overseas offices, shipping lines, airlines, transport providers and other logistics partners.

- Monitoring shipments and keeping customers informed of shipment progress.





- Helping resolve day-to-day shipment issues with support from experienced team members.

- Assisting with job costing and invoicing.

- Maintaining accurate shipment information within our systems.

- Learning and following established operational procedures and customer requirements.

- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and other projects as required.

- Developing an understanding of the broader logistics industry, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, transport and warehousing.

About you

You don't need to be a freight forwarding expert. We will help you learn the industry.

We are looking for someone who is curious, dependable and keen to build a career in logistics.

Ideally, you will have:

- Recently completed, or be close to completing, a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, international business, business, commerce or another relevant discipline.

- An interest in international trade, logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain management.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- A positive and professional approach to customer service.

- Good organizational and time-management skills.

- Robust attention to detail and accuracy.

- Confidence using Microsoft Office and an ability to learn new computer systems.

- The ability to manage several tasks and priorities in a busy working environment.

- A willingness to ask questions and learn from experienced colleagues.

- A proactive approach to problem solving.

- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics is welcome,



but it is not essential.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, willingness to learn and motivation to develop a long-term career in logistics.
