About the Role

Gov Recruit is seeking an experienced Reporting & Tools Analyst to join a Federal Government ICT team supporting the continuous improvement of project delivery tools, reporting and portfolio management practices.

This role focuses on Jira and Confluence administration, Power BI dashboards, data analysis and automation. You will work closely with project managers, portfolio teams and technical stakeholders to improve data quality, standardise delivery practices and provide reliable reporting to support informed decision-making.

The position is based in Victoria, with hybrid working arrangements and flexible work options available in consultation with the manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, configure and enhance Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud.

- Standardise workflows, templates, permissions, dashboards and reporting structures.

- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.

- Extract, transform, analyse and validate project and delivery data.

- Improve data quality, reporting consistency and portfolio visibility.

- Gather stakeholder requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.

- Develop and maintain Python scripts, automation rules and utilities.

- Integrate data using APIs and automation tools where appropriate.

- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual reporting.

- Prepare technical documentation, user guides, standards and procedures.

- Support testing, implementation and validation of tooling and reporting changes.

- Collaborate with delivery teams to improve adoption of standardised practices.

- Apply appropriate development, testing, version control and documentation practices.

Required Skills & Experience

- Demonstrated experience administering and configuring Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud.

- Strong experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports.





- Experience with data analysis, transformation, modelling and validation.

- Ability to translate business requirements into reporting and tooling solutions.

- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, APIs or automation tools.

- Understanding of software development practices, including version control, testing and documentation.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.

- Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance, subject to eligibility requirements.

Desirable Skills & Experience

- Advanced Jira configuration, JQL, workflows and automation.

- Power BI expertise, including Power Query and DAX.

- Python scripting for data extraction, integration and reporting.

- Experience integrating Jira and Confluence data using REST APIs and JSON.

- Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Secure or other project delivery methodologies.

- Experience supporting project, program and portfolio reporting.

- Experience within an Australian Government or complex enterprise environment.

- Familiarity with responsible AI-assisted development tools and practices.
