Who you’ll support
- Adults living with psychosocial disability, in their own homes and community
- Young people living with intellectual disability
What you’ll do
- Support with community access, appointments, shopping and outings
- Help with household tasks such as laundry and tidying
- Encourage goals like study, creative hobbies and staying active
- Follow each participant’s support plan and behaviour support strategies
You’ll be a great fit if you
- Love dogs and are comfortable working in homes with several pets
- Are punctual and dependable, and let people know early if plans change
- Give people your full attention,
with your phone away on shift
- Are patient, calm, honest and good at listening
- Respect people’s right to make their own choices
- Have a positive sense of humour
Essential
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Working With Children Check (Employee)
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Full driver’s licence, reliable car and comprehensive insurance
- Australian work rights
Highly regarded
- Cert III/IV in Individual Support, Disability or Mental Health, or relevant experience
- Experience with mental health, trauma-informed support, diabetes or epilepsy
- Experience supporting young people with intellectual disability
Female support workers are strongly encouraged to apply, as some participants prefer female workers.
