Finance Business Partner | Healthcare (12-Month Contract)

About the opportunity

Our client is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services, employing thousands of staff across multiple hospital and community sites. Their FP&A; team is looking for an experienced healthcare Finance Business Partner to cover a 12-month maternity leave contract. They want someone who goes beyond reporting the numbers, asks the next question and works through problems with the business.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you’ll be the finance partner for a portfolio of corporate areas. You’ll work closely with operational and corporate leaders and turn the numbers into insight they can act on.

- Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts for your portfolio
- Report against budget with a strong focus on cost, delivering variance commentary that identifies root causes and recommends actions
- Lead the build and monitoring of operating and capital budgets
- Prepare business cases, options analyses and investment evaluations
- Partner with the Clinical Costing team to ensure consistent information and insight




- Prepare monthly journals where required

What they’re looking for

They want a curious, commercially minded Finance Business Partner with a strong healthcare background.

- Healthcare experience is essential
- Proven Finance Business Partner experience, including engaging operational, non-finance leaders with the numbers
- Strong cost reporting, forecasting and variance analysis skills
- Advanced Excel, plus experience with ERP, planning and BI tools
- CA or CPA qualified, or well progressed, with a relevant tertiary degree
- Knowledge of activity-based funding, clinical costing or Department of Health reporting, which is highly regarded
