Quarters at Flinders Hotel is an award-winning, 40-room boutique hotel offering contemporary coastal luxury, while the recently refurbished Motel Flinders combines retro-inspired design with relaxed, modern comfort.

We’re proud of our warm, genuine hospitality and personalised guest service, and we're looking for an enthusiastic and capable Duty Manager to join our friendly team.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll play a key role in overseeing daily operations across both properties, supporting our Guest Services and Housekeeping teams and ensuring a seamless experience for every guest.

This is a varied, hands-on leadership position combining front office operations, reservations, guest services and operational coordination.

You'll take ownership of daily operations during your shifts, confidently manage guest enquiries and operational challenges, and help maintain the high standards our guests expect.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily front office operations across both accommodation properties.

- Lead and support Guest Services team members, fostering a positive and guest-focused environment.

- Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure room readiness and presentation standards.

- Manage guest arrivals, departures, reservations and enquiries.

- Handle guest feedback, special requests and operational challenges with confidence and professionalism.

- Monitor room allocations, daily arrivals and departures, and guest requirements.

- Identify opportunities to enhance guest experiences and maximise accommodation revenue.

- Ensure daily administrative tasks, reporting and operational procedures are completed accurately.

- Support the General Manager with staff training and ongoing operational improvements.





About You:

We're looking for a positive, motivated hospitality professional who enjoys taking initiative, leading by example and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Previous experience in hotel front office or accommodation operations, preferably in a supervisory or Duty Manager role.

- A genuine passion for hospitality and personalised guest service.

- Confidence to work independently, make sound decisions and manage competing priorities.

- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

- Strong attention to detail and a professional, approachable manner.

- A hands-on, proactive attitude and willingness to support the team.

- Experience with hotel property management systems (RMS experience highly regarded).

- Flexibility to work across a rotating seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time position working across a rotating seven-day roster.

Typical shifts include

- 7.00am - 3.00pm

- 9.00am - 5.00pm

- 12.00pm - 8.00pm

Weekend shifts are shared across the team, averaging one weekend day per week. Depending on roster rotations, some weekends may involve working both days, while others will provide a full weekend off.
