Join our client’s team as an EL1 Assistant Director Quality, leading quality assurance and improvement work that supports early childhood planning and decision-making. This 12-month casual on-hire assignment offers the opportunity to provide strategic advice, build team capability and contribute to consistent, high-quality outcomes.

About the role

Working under broad direction, you’ll lead complex work within legislative, policy and operational frameworks. You’ll provide technical expertise and sound judgement while overseeing team performance, quality assurance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

- Provide high-level technical, policy and operational advice on quality assurance and quality control for early childhood planning and decision-making.
- Manage team performance and outputs to achieve branch targets and quality outcomes.
- Lead, coach and mentor team members to strengthen decision-making accuracy, technical skills and capability.
- Maintain quality reporting and data collection systems, interpreting performance data and identifying trends, business impacts and risks.
- Identify and lead business improvement initiatives, supporting branch goals and effective change management.
- Manage stakeholder relationships,



represent the branch and provide information on early childhood planning and quality activities.

About you

You’ll bring strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, procedures and standards. You can lead a team, set priorities, manage workflows and provide clear advice on complex issues. Confidence using Excel and analysing data will help you support evidence-based decisions and quality reporting.

Experience or qualifications in early childhood, disability, allied health or the public sector would be advantageous. Coaching capability and experience managing competing priorities in a complex setting will also be valuable.

Assignment details

- 12-month assignment, with a possible extension subject to approval
- Daily rate: $602.55 plus superannuation
- Australian citizenship is required
- Any locations in Australia
