An established electrical engineering and project business is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Leading Hand to join its Queensland project team.

The projects will be working across major mining and power infrastructure, with ongoing opportunities across the company's broader project portfolio.

This role would suit an experienced electrician who is comfortable leading a crew while remaining hands-on, and who enjoys project-based work within mining and heavy industrial environments.

The Role Working closely with the Project Manager and site leadership team, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day electrical activities and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to project requirements.

Responsibilities will include

- Leading and coordinating electricians and site personnel
- Remaining hands-on with electrical installation and project works
- Planning daily work activities, labour, materials and equipment
- Allocating work and coordinating site priorities
- Running pre-starts, toolbox talks and safety discussions
- Ensuring works comply with electrical, safety and quality requirements
- Supporting and mentoring tradespeople and apprentices
- Troubleshooting electrical and operational issues
- Liaising with Project Managers, customers and other contractors
- Monitoring progress, productivity and resource requirements
- Supporting testing, commissioning and project handover activities
- Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship across the crew





About You We are looking for a technically capable electrician who is confident taking responsibility for a work crew while remaining involved in the practical delivery of the project. Ideally, you will have:
- Australian Electrical Trade Qualification
- Current electrical licence
- Previous Leading Hand, Supervisor or senior electrician experience
- Experience within mining, power, heavy industrial or major project environments
- Exposure to HV electrical systems highly regarded
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving capability
- Positive understanding of electrical safety, permits and site risk management
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Confidence allocating and coordinating daily work
- Ability to communicate effectively with project management and site stakeholders
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Flexibility to work a project-based roster in regional Queensland

Experience across mining infrastructure, power generation, HV/LV distribution, switchgear, substations, commissioning or major electrical installations would be particularly advantageous.
