YAY Today is currently recruiting multiple experienced Disability Support Workers to join a dedicated team providing ongoing complex support for a young participant located in Nunawading.

We are looking for experienced, confident and reliable Support Workers who are seeking consistent ongoing shifts and want to be part of a stable, well-supported team.

Hands-on Personal Care Assistance (PCA) experience is essential for this role.

Due to the participant's personal care needs and preferences, male Support Workers are strongly encouraged to apply.

Multiple positions are available, with immediate interviews for suitable candidates.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will work as part of a dedicated 2:1 team, alongside another Support Worker, to provide secure, consistent and person-centred support.

Your responsibilities will include

· Providing hands-on Personal Care Assistance (PCA)

· Supporting daily living activities and personal routines

· Providing 2:1 support within the home and community

· Supporting community access and participation

· Following Behaviour Support Plans and established support strategies

· Supporting emotional regulation and responding appropriately to behaviours of concern

· Working collaboratively with other Support Workers to maintain consistent support

· Maintaining professional boundaries

· Completing clear and accurate progress notes and documentation





Depending on participant needs and your availability, shifts may include:

· Day and afternoon shifts

· Evening shifts

· Weekend shifts

· Community access

· Ongoing regular shifts

· Flexible and additional shifts

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for Support Workers who:

· Have demonstrated hands-on PCA experience

· Have experience supporting people with complex disability needs

· Are confident working within a 2:1 support environment

· Are comfortable working in an active support role, including regular community access, extended periods of walking and responding promptly to changing situations to support participant safety

· Have strong situational awareness and can remain calm, alert and responsive in the community

· Are calm, patient and confident when responding to challenging situations

· Have excellent verbal English communication skills and can communicate clearly and effectively

· Are reliable and able to commit to regular ongoing shifts

· Can confidently follow support plans, Behaviour Support Plans and instructions

· Work well as part of a consistent support team

· Are professional, respectful and genuinely passionate about providing quality support

Experience with complex behaviours, autism,



mental health and Positive Behaviour Support will be highly regarded.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS To be considered for this role, you must have:

· Previous hands-on PCA experience

· Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

· Current Working with Children Check

· Current First Aid and CPR

· Valid Australian Driver Licence

· Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance

· Full Australian working rights

· Availability to commit to regular ongoing shifts

Relevant qualifications in Disability, Individual Support, Mental Health or Community Services are highly regarded.
