The Opportunity

Zenith Search is partnering with an established Brisbane-based civil contractor looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team.

Specialising in civil construction, retaining structures and structural landscaping, our client delivers a diverse range of projects across South East Queensland, including retaining walls, bulk earthworks, drainage and associated civil infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, commercially minded Project Manager looking to step away from the larger corporate environment and take genuine ownership of project delivery within a close-knit, ambitious team.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing approximately 3-4 projects simultaneously, overseeing delivery from initial planning through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing multiple civil construction projects from start to finish.

- Overseeing retaining walls, concrete sleeper walls, interlocking block walls, earthworks, drainage and structural landscaping packages.

- Managing project budgets, forecasting,



daily cost tracking and commercial performance.

- Coordinating subcontractors, site teams, plant, equipment and resources.

- Ensuring QA/QC compliance, safety standards and project specifications are maintained.

- Managing project programming, procurement, variations and client relationships.

- Contributing to tendering, estimating and submissions for future projects.

- Leading and developing project teams while supporting the continued growth of the business.

About You

- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

- Proven contractor-side experience as a Project Manager or an accomplished Senior Project Engineer ready to step up.

- Strong hands‑on civil construction background, ideally having progressed through Site Engineer and Project Engineer positions.

- Experience delivering retaining walls, concrete structures, earthworks, subdivisions or structural landscaping packages.

- Strong commercial understanding, including cost control, forecasting, procurement and subcontractor management.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

- Confident communicator with strong leadership, problem‑solving and organisational skills.

- Motivated, proactive and comfortable working within a smaller, hands‑on project delivery team.
