The Opportunity

Our client is a large, well-established Australian services organisation. With continued growth and investment across the business, they are seeking an experienced Financial Modeller to join their team.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this newly created role will take ownership of the 3-way financial model and provide key commercial analysis and investment evaluation to support strategic planning and decision-making.

This is an excellent prospect for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of complex financial models, while also working closely with senior stakeholders to influence commercial outcomes.

The role will commence as an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with a view to permanency thereafter.

The Challenge

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Developing and maintaining the three-way financial model across P&L;, balance sheet and cash flow
- Building financial models to support the organisation's five-year strategic plan
- Undertaking scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to assess financial risks, opportunities and investment outcomes
- Supporting investment evaluations, commercial opportunities and business case development
- Reviewing and challenging financial assumptions underpinning forecasts, investments and commercial arrangements




- Partnering with the CFO and senior leadership to provide meaningful financial analysis and recommendations

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

- CA/CFA qualification with strong financial modelling and commercial analysis experience
- Ideally a background in Deals, Corporate Finance, Transaction Advisory, Valuations or M&A; within a leading professional services firm
- Alternatively, strong financial modelling and investment analysis experience gained within a commercially focused corporate environment
- Demonstrated experience building integrated three-way financial models
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to develop dynamic, flexible and well-structured models
- Strong experience in investment evaluation, scenario analysis and business case development
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful commercial recommendations
- A proactive, autonomous approach with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders
