About the Company Our client is one of Europe's largest furniture manufacturers, home to a portfolio of brands including a globally renowned premium furniture name recognised worldwide. The group sells across dozens of international markets, manufactures across multiple continents, and employs thousands of people worldwide.

Built on a long-standing reputation for quality and service, the business is now pursuing an ambitious growth strategy to expand its global presence, reach new customer segments and broaden its product categories. Australia is a priority market within this strategy, and our client is looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Manager to build strong finance foundations and support the next phase of growth for its Australian businesses.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Country Manager, Australia, with a functional line to Group Finance, the Finance Manager is the local finance lead across two of the group's core brands in Australia. You'll lead a team of two and own finance operations, reporting, controls and compliance, with budgeting, cash flow and commercial support to the business. You'll have close support from Group Finance as you settle in.

Our client has a matrix structure, so you'll need to be comfortable working across local, regional and group functions. This is a hands-on role for a finance professional who enjoys the detail and loves solving problems.

Your early focus will be understanding how finance processes run and capturing them in clear, accessible process guides that reduce reliance on any one person.

From there, you'll become a trusted partner to the Country Manager, supporting the business with reliable reporting, forecasts and insight.

Above all, we're looking for someone who is adaptable, proactive and solutions-focused, and who takes real satisfaction from building strong processes and documentation. You're a supportive team lead who helps people feel valued and confident to grow.

What You'll Own

Financial reporting and close

- Own the month-end and year-end close, delivering accurate management, statutory and group reporting in line with AASB, IFRS and group deadlines.

Process, documentation and continuity - Map how finance runs across both brands, capture it in clear, accessible process guides, and build cross-training and backup coverage that removes key person risk.

Commercial and business support

- Support the Country Manager with sales performance reporting, forecasts and financial input on initiatives, alongside the regional Finance Business Partner.

Budgeting, forecasting and cash

- Lead the annual budget and reforecasts, and manage cash flow, working capital, banking and FX exposure.

Compliance, tax and controls

- Ensure statutory and tax obligations are met, oversee external tax and payroll providers, coordinate the annual audit, and maintain a strong control environment.

Team leadership

- Support and develop two finance team members,

broadening their capability across both brands.

Local business administration

Oversee local HR administration, employee relations and health and safety coordination, with support from Group People.

Group partnership

- Act as the key link between the Australian business and Group Finance.

About You Key to your success in this role will be your ability to combine technical rigour with a practical, hands-on approach. You're happy to be in the detail, you spot opportunities to improve, and you're proactive in making them happen. Commercially minded and naturally curious, you enjoy finding the story behind the numbers and communicating it in a way non-finance leaders can act on.

- CA or CPA qualified (highly desirable), with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
- 5+ years' accounting experience, with people management experience desirable.
- Experience managing full-cycle month-end and end-to-end financial reporting, ideally across multiple entities within an international group.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, the Corporations Act and Australian tax requirements.
- A track record of documenting and improving finance processes.
- Robust analytical skills, with advanced Excel and ERP experience. SAP experience is highly regarded.
- Experience in wholesale, retail, consumer goods or furniture is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.

How to Apply If you are looking for the opportunity to evolve your finance career with a successful global business, we encourage you to apply now. Please include your resume and direct all questions to [email protected]. Our client is an equal opportunity employer so, even if you don’t think you quite meet all of the skills listed or tick all the boxes, we’d still love to hear from you!
