The Chance

This role sits within Micromine Precision Consulting, one of the specialist businesses within Weir Software Solutions.

As a Junior Mining Engineer, you will contribute to a variety of client projects, supporting mining companies through different stages of the mining lifecycle. Depending on project requirements, your work may include mine planning, scheduling, reconciliation, feasibility studies, operational improvement initiatives, software implementation projects, tool development and site-based support activities.

This role is designed to develop well-rounded mining engineers who understand not only how to use technical tools, but also why engineering decisions are made and how they impact mining operations.

The Impact You'll Have

- Support mine planning, scheduling and optimisation outcomes for mining clients.
- Assist with feasibility studies,



operational improvement projects and technical assessments.
- Develop practical consulting experience across a diverse range of mining operations and commodities.
- Build capability using industry-leading mine planning and engineering software solutions.
- Collaborate with experienced mining engineers and technical specialists on client engagements.
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality technical outcomes and project deliverables.

What You Need to Succeed

- Degree qualifications in Mining Engineering.
- Exposure to mine planning, scheduling or mining software solutions is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites.
- Confidence working with technical data and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid communication and collaboration skills.
- A genuine interest in consulting, mining technology and continuous learning.
