We are looking for an exceptionally organised and commercially minded General Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of two established cocktail bars in Melbourne.

The businesses are profitable and entering a new stage of growth. The founder is looking to step away from day-to-day operations, creating an opportunity for the right person to take genuine ownership of the business, improve its systems and help shape its future growth.

The Role

You will oversee both venues and be responsible for ensuring they operate consistently, efficiently and profitably.

A major focus of the role will be organisation and systems. We want someone who can quickly understand the existing operation, identify weaknesses and implement better processes across the business.

Responsibilities will include

- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of both venues
- Managing and developing the existing management team
- Improving operational systems, procedures and reporting
- Managing labour costs, COGS, budgets and other key financial metrics
- Producing accurate and useful weekly reporting
- Improving rostering, purchasing, stock control and cost management
- Creating clear accountability across the management team
- Identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions
- Ensuring projects and priorities are followed through to completion
- Maintaining high standards across service, presentation and venue operations
- Identifying opportunities to improve profitability and grow revenue
- Working with the founder on larger strategic decisions
- Eventually assisting with the development and opening of future venues

you need to be extremely organised.

You should naturally create structure, stay on top of multiple priorities and follow things through without needing to be chased.

We are looking for someone who:

- Is exceptionally organised and detail-oriented
- Is commercially and financially minded
- Has strong personal accountability and initiative
- Understands hospitality margins, labour and COGS
- Is proactive and comfortable working independently
- Communicates clearly and consistently
- Is confident managing and developing people
- Is positive at identifying problems and implementing solutions
- Has strong hospitality management experience
- Is ambitious and interested in helping grow a business over the long term

Experience overseeing multiple venues, managing P&Ls;, opening venues or building operational systems would be highly regarded. What Success Looks Like The goal is to build a business that operates consistently and profitably without requiring significant involvement from the founder.

You should eventually have a strong command of the venues, the numbers and the management team, while continuing to improve the systems behind the business.

Long-Term Opportunity

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
