Event Rentals and Queensland Hire are two of Queensland's longest-running event hire businesses (since 1980). We supply marquees, structures, amenities and event infrastructure for festivals, stadiums, showgrounds, exhibitions, and civic and sporting events across SEQ. We're bringing electrical in-house and are looking for a licensed electrician to own it.

What you'll do

- Warehouse electrical: set up, organise and maintain the electrical hire fleet: leads, distribution boards, RCDs, lighting, heaters and generators. Build a system that keeps stock tagged, tracked and job-ready.
- Test & tag: run our in-house test & tag program to AS/NZS 3760, covering inspections, records, repairs and quarantining of faulty gear.
- Event set-ups: design, install and sign off temporary power at events to AS/NZS 3002, including marquee lighting, power distribution, generators and cable management, then pack down.
- Compliance: certificates of compliance, electrical safety checks, SWMS and site inductions.
- Advice: help the sales team quote and plan power for events.
- Repairs:



fault-find and repair hire equipment and warehouse electrical.

What you'll need

- Current QLD Electrical Mechanic licence (unrestricted)
- Test & tag competency (or willingness to get it quickly)
- Experience with temporary power, events, generators or construction sites is highly regarded
- Driver licence. MR/HR truck licence, forklift licence and EWP ticket are a bonus.
- White Card
- Physically fit and happy working outdoors, with early starts, and some weekends and nights during event season
- Organised and safety-first, and you take ownership

What we offer

- $90k–$105k + super, plus overtime and weekend rates under our flexibility agreement
