We’re Hiring! Junior Fencing Coach / Kids Sports Instructor

Ready to Fence | Hornsby, Sydney, NSW

Do you love working with young children and helping them discover new skills?

Ready to Fence is a growing fencing club in Hornsby, Sydney, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and caring instructor to join our coaching team.

Fencing experience is NOT essential!

We’re looking for someone who is genuinely great with children, particularly ages 5-7. We believe that the ability to engage, motivate, and communicate with young kids is more important than technical fencing knowledge.

We can teach you fencing - but your natural ability to connect with children is what we’re looking for!

Your Responsibilities

- Lead fun, engaging, and age-appropriate fencing activities for young beginners.
- Introduce children to basic movement, coordination, balance, and sporting skills through games.
- Create a positive, welcoming, and safe learning environment.
- Help children develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and respect.
- Communicate positively with parents and support each child’s progress.
- Assist with group classes, holiday camps, and club activities.

Who We’re Looking For

- Someone who genuinely enjoys working with children aged 5-7.
- Patient, friendly, energetic, creative, and enthusiastic.
- Confident managing small groups of young children.
- Able to make learning fun while maintaining clear rules and boundaries.
- Reliable, responsible,

and a positive role model.
- Willing to learn fencing techniques and our coaching methods.

Experience in primary education, early childhood education, gymnastics, martial arts, swimming, or other junior sports is highly valued.

Previous fencing experience is a bonus, but not required.

What We Offer

- Training in fencing fundamentals and coaching methods.
- A supportive and friendly coaching environment.
- Opportunities for career development and career growth.
- The chance to help develop a new generation of young athletes.
- Flexible working arrangements, depending on availability and club needs.

Requirements

- Valid NSW Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain one before commencing child-related work).
- Good communication skills in English.
- Availability for junior classes, including weekends.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
