About us

Sydney Music Lessons connects Sydney families and adults with great music teachers. We're growing fast, and one of the biggest ways we grow is by earning links and partnerships with other quality websites and local businesses.

The role

You'll own our link building and partnerships from start to finish. We'll teach you how link building and SEO work: what makes a link valuable, how to find the right sites, and how to build relationships that last. Then you'll run it. You'll find opportunities, reach out by phone and email, follow up, and track results. You'll be the friendly, professional face of Sydney Music Lessons to the businesses and publishers you contact.

What you'll do

- Research and shortlist websites worth getting a link from (Sydney businesses, schools, community sites, blogs, directories, publishers)
- Make cold calls and write outreach emails that get replies
- Pitch the value to each business in terms of what they get out of it, not just what we want
- Follow up persistently but warmly, and manage each relationship until the link is live
- Track every prospect,



conversation and result in our outreach pipeline
- Report weekly on what's working and what to try next

What you'll learn

- How link building works and what separates a good link from a bad one
- The SEO basics behind it: authority, relevance, anchor text and how links affect rankings
- How to build outreach systems that run consistently
- Practical sales and negotiation skills you can use in any career

You're a great fit if you

- Live in Sydney and know the local community, suburbs and business landscape
- Are comfortable making cold calls and don't get discouraged by a "no"
- Write transparent, professional, friendly emails
- Understand what motivates people, and can explain why saying yes benefits them
- Are organised and self-driven, and happy to own a whole process rather than wait to be told what's next
- Can represent a business professionally and warmly to strangers
- Are curious and want to learn SEO from scratch

Bonus, but not required: SEO or marketing knowledge, sales or customer service experience, a love of music.
