About the Role Based at our beautiful The Gracewood Community, you will be part of our café team, helping to create a warm and welcoming environment for our customers.

This is a varied role where you will provide friendly customer service, prepare and serve food and drinks, make quality coffee and assist with the day-to-day operation of the café.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Prepare and serve food and drinks with a smile
- Craft quality coffee using your barista skills
- Provide friendly and welcoming customer service
- Take orders and operate the point-of-sale terminal and EFTPOS machine
- Maintain a clean and safe café environment, ensuring equipment is kept in good condition
- Maintain the service area in accordance with food safety standards

Permanent part-time opportunity offering 22.5 hours per week, working 4.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

What You'll Bring You will have all-round café experience across both front and back of house, including barista skills. You will have a warm and welcoming nature, strong customer service skills and empathy for older people, along with a genuine alignment to BaptistCare's purpose, vision and values.

In a nutshell This gig is all about delivering breathtaking customer service and ensuring extraordinary member satisfaction in all café interactions. A day in the life Welcome members and help them find whatever they need or whatever they’re looking for. Provide heartfelt service and create personal experiences in line with our customer experience strategy and brand standards. Prepare and serve food and beverages in line with the menu offering. Ensure quality levels are maintained on all food and beverage items being served. Ensure all interactions are warm, queries are answered and feedback and complaints handled effectively. Ensure the café area is sparkling by cleaning all areas, washing dishes, changing bins, mopping the floor and wiping surfaces so they’re flawless.



Advocate safety and ensure an overall safe workplace for members and team members (with specific focus on food and beverage regulatory compliance). Find ways to give that little bit extra… especially when it’s unexpected. To land this gig… and your ongoing mindset You have 2+ years of relevant customer service or hospitality experience, a neat freak reputation and flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule.
