Our client is a global FMCG manufacturer with some of the best known snacking brands in the world and one of the largest food manufacturing footprints in Australia and New Zealand. Their Laverton operation is a state of the art facility of significant scale. The business has a clear ambition of zero incidents and an optimum environmental footprint, and this role is central to getting there.
The Role
Sitting on the site leadership team, this is the site’s go to authority on health, safety and environment. You will partner with operations, warehousing, logistics and project teams to lead site specific HSE initiatives, strengthen risk management and keep building a safety culture people genuinely own. This is a hands on, site based role where coaching and influence matter as much as technical knowledge. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the implementation of all health and safety programs and processes across the site
- Maintain the risk management systems that support State Self Insurance, prepare for self insurance audits and close out corrective actions
- Act as the health and safety subject matter expert for all site projects and change management activities
- Lead incident reporting and investigations alongside the HSE Pillar team and safety committee, driving corrective actions that eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence
- Follow up non conformances and build systems that resolve them through root cause analysis
- Coach and develop leaders and team members so safety is owned on the floor, not just managed from the office
- Keep the site compliant with the OHS Act, Regulations and relevant standards
