Kilner’s Engineering is looking for Trades Assistants to join our busy manufacturing team in our state-of-the-art Morningside workshop.

This is a practical workshop role covering component preparation for fabrication, machinery loading, assembly, materials handling, packing and dispatch. You’ll support our tradespeople while developing your skills in a busy engineering and manufacturing environment.

Trades Assistant

Key Responsibilities

- Assist tradespeople with fabrication, manufacturing and workshop activities

- Operate workshop equipment, load and unload machinery under supervision

- Prepare parts for fabrication, assembly, powdercoating and the next stage of production

- Assemble components and finished products

- Pack and prepare components and finished products for dispatch

- Receive and organise materials and inventory

- Carry out basic machinery and equipment maintenance

- Follow Quality Management System and Workplace Health & Safety procedures

About You

- Experience in fabrication, manufacturing or engineering environment

- Solid mechanical aptitude and practical skills

- Able to read technical drawings, dimensions and tolerances

- Good attention to detail and organisational skills

- Reliable and comfortable working independently or within a team





- Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
