Task &

responsibilities Inspect, service, maintain, and repair motor vehicles. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and cooling system repairs.

Replace worm or damaged components and install replacement parts. Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.



Test vehicles after repairs to ensure they operate safety and efficiently.

Identify potential mechanical problems and recommend appropriate repairs. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, servicing, and parts used. Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workshop.

Ensure all work meets quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and relevant regulations. Qualification &

experience Relevant automotive mechanical qualification, such as a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or equivalent recognised qualification. Previous experience as a motor mechanic or automotive technician is preferred. Strong knowledge of vehicle engines, mechanical systems, and automotive electrical systems.

Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle faults using appropriate tools and equipment. Good problem-solving, troubleshooting, and time-management skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

A valid driver licence is preferred.
