The opportunity

An established hospitality business is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a portfolio of stores across Melbourne.

This operational role is suited to a commercially focused hospitality leader who thrives in complex, high-volume environments and is experienced in overseeing multiple stores, concepts or service styles.

Balancing strategic oversight with visible, hands-on leadership, you will be accountable for operational performance, financial results, leadership capability and the consistent delivery of exceptional guest experiences.

You will work closely with store leaders to strengthen accountability, improve performance and build engaged, capable teams.

Key responsibilities

- Provide operational leadership across a portfolio of hospitality stores

- Coach, support and hold venue leaders accountable for performance and agreed standards

- Build leadership capability and develop engaged, high-performing teams

- Maintain full oversight of store performance, including revenue, labour, cost control and profitability

- Interpret financial and operational results and implement targeted improvement plans

- Ensure service, product quality and guest experience standards are consistently delivered

- Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, succession and talent development

- Lead operational improvement initiatives, store openings and other key projects

- Maintain high standards of food safety, liquor licensing, workplace safety and broader regulatory compliance

- Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external partners





- Identify opportunities to improve operating efficiency and support sustainable business growth

- Maintain a regular presence across the venue portfolio, including during key trading periods

About you

You are an accomplished hospitality operator who can move confidently between strategic planning, commercial analysis and hands-on venue support.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:

- Significant operations management experience within hospitality, food and beverage or a related customer-facing environment

- Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple stores/F&B; outlets, business units or complex operations

- A strong track record of leading and developing managers and operational teams

- Sound commercial and financial acumen, including P&L; management, labour optimisation and cost control

- The ability to use operational data and business results to identify priorities and drive improvement

- Experience maintaining high standards across food safety, liquor compliance and workplace health and safety

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- A practical, visible and solutions-focused leadership style

- The ability to create accountability while maintaining a collaborative and supportive culture

- Experience with new venue openings, business transformation or large-scale operational projects would be highly regarded

- Experience in high-volume, multi-concept hospitality environments would also be advantageous
