At ResourceCo, we give materials a second life. We’re looking for a hands‑on Health & Safety Business Partner who can work confidently across our Victorian operations, build strong relationships with operational leaders and turn safety priorities into practical improvements on site.

This is a hands‑on, standalone role with no direct reports and regular travel between Somerton, Brooklyn and Hampton Park. You’ll spend a significant part of your week on site, getting to know operators and supervisors, observing work, checking controls and following up improvements. You’ll personally carry out inspections and investigations, with support from our Head of HSEQ and wider HSEQ team.

Your responsibilities will be:

- Maintain a regular presence on site, build relationships with operators and supervisors, and work with operational leaders to identify risks and improve how work is done.
- Lead critical-risk reviews and verify that controls work in practice, particularly for mobile and fixed plant, isolation/LOTOTO and contractor activities.
- Personally lead incident investigations, gather evidence, speak with those involved and identify contributing factors. Work with operational leaders to implement corrective actions and verify they are effective.
- Coach supervisors and teams on risk assessments, safe systems of work, inspections and practical safety conversations.
- Use site observations, trends and leading indicators to focus effort where it will make the greatest difference.
- Provide clear advice on Victorian OHS obligations, elevate serious or uncontrolled risks and support practical compliance.

- Support audits and relevant environmental and quality obligations within ResourceCo’s established systems.
- Contribute to safety planning for operational change, new assets and improvement projects, with occasional broader business support as required.

What you’ll bring:

You’re an experienced health and safety practitioner who knows how to operate independently in a high‑risk environment. You’re equally comfortable discussing a critical control with an operator and influencing a decision with a site manager. You combine technical judgement with a practical, collaborative approach.

- Demonstrated hands‑on safety experience in high‑risk operations, including regular site visits, inspections, investigations and direct engagement with frontline teams.
- Strong understanding of critical-risk management, plant and equipment safety, LOTOTO, contractor management and incident investigations.
- Ability to influence without direct authority, respectfully challenge unsafe practices and follow agreed actions through.
- Confidence working across multiple sites, prioritising competing risks and following improvements through.

Experience in manufacturing, construction, mining/quarrying, transport and logistics,

recycling or comparable operational industries is valued. ICAM or similar investigation training, ISO systems and environmental or resource recovery experience would be advantageous—not essential.

Why ResourceCo?

Your work will directly support safer operations and the recovery and re‑manufacture of resources. You’ll have meaningful autonomy, access to experienced HSEQ colleagues and the opportunity to shape practical improvements across a varied operational portfolio.

- Make a real impact – Help shape safety practices and drive meaningful improvements.
- Independence with support – Take ownership of practical site work, backed by our Head of HSEQ and wider team.
- Variety and opportunity – Work across diverse sites in an established resource recovery business.
- Full‑time opportunity – Join a purpose‑driven business committed to sustainability.
- Career development – Access training, development and qualified growth opportunities.
- Paid parental leave – Supporting you and your family.
- Employee benefits – Access our Employee Assistance Program and employee benefits program.
- Competitive remuneration – Attractive salary package based on skills and experience.
- Bring your experience and perspective

We welcome applications from people with diverse experiences and perspectives. Candidates will be assessed against the skills, experience and capabilities relevant to the role. We can discuss reasonable adjustments to support an accessible recruitment process.
