Occupational Health Nurse (Registered Nurse)

About the role

Diamond Protection is looking for an Occupational Health Nurse to deliver health services for a leading organisation in Victoria. You will be based at an onsite medical centre and also support nearby sites. You will look after the health and wellbeing of employees, contractors and visitors.

This role suits a Registered Nurse who is confident working on their own and wants a wide-ranging mix of clinical care, injury management and health promotion.

What you’ll do

- Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses, and refer people to primary care when needed
- Record and document all injuries and illnesses accurately, and report them to the right people
- Help develop, carry out and review injury management and return-to-work plans
- Work with the health, workers’ compensation, safety and management teams, and with external treating practitioners
- Support the health surveillance program in line with company and legislative requirements
- Plan and run 2–4 health promotion days per site each year, and give employees health information
- Help with industrial hygiene matters




- Audit medical and first aid equipment and stock across your sites
- Keep registers and databases up to date
- Keep all health and personal information confidential

What you’ll need

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia)
- A current driver’s licence
- Strong clinical nursing skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Good time management, organisational and computer skills
- The ability to work with limited or remote supervision

Highly regarded

- 2+ years of nursing experience
- Experience as an Occupational Health Adviser or similar in an industrial setting
- Emergency or first aid experience
- A post-graduate qualification in OH&S;, held or in progress
- Audiometry experience or qualifications
- Nurse immuniser qualifications
- A completed Return to Work Coordinator course
- Knowledge of OHS practices and WorkSafe Victoria claims processes
- Membership of a relevant professional body
