An exciting opportunity is available for an Applications Support Engineer to join a large organisation supporting a suite of business-critical operational applications.

This is a broad technical role spanning application support, integrations, data and operational technology. You'll investigate application and integration issues, improve monitoring and automation, and support critical systems across an operational environment.

The role will suit someone from a software engineering or development background with strong troubleshooting and integration capability. While there is some scripting and coding involved, this is not primarily a software development position.

You Should Have

- Commercial experience with SQL
- Commercial experience with Python
- Commercial C or C++ experience
- Python scripting across ETL and data pipelines
- Power BI and/or Tableau exposure
- Robust application troubleshooting and investigation skills
- Ideally 2+ years' commercial software/development experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to Have

- Mining industry or operational applications experience
- Historian or SCADA experience
- OPC-DA / OPC-UA experience
- AWS or AWS IoT experience
- C# experience




- Previous mentoring experience

Key Responsibilities

- Support business-critical operational applications
- Troubleshoot application and integration issues
- Perform break/fix and proactive maintenance
- Investigate SQL, data and integration issues
- Develop Python scripts for ETL and data transformation
- Improve monitoring, alerting and automation
- Engage with operational teams, projects and vendors
- Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

You'll join a collaborative team operating in a fast-paced and changeable environment, with broad exposure across applications, integrations, data and operational technology.

Mining experience is not essential, making this a genuine opportunity for someone with a strong technical background to move into the sector and develop their career.

Working Arrangements

- Perth-based permanent position
- Staggered working hours across a 6:00am–6:00pm coverage window
- Occasional site travel
- On-call rotation approximately 1 week every 10 weeks
- Approximately $5,000 additional annual on-call allowance
- Salary $140,000–$179,500 + superannuation
