About the role

We’re looking for a Payroll Officer to join our client support team. You’ll look after payroll for a diverse portfolio of clients, from small local businesses to larger employers, making sure their people are paid accurately and on time.

This isn’t a role where every day looks the same. Alongside payroll, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in client bookkeeping and broader business support work, giving you real insight into how our clients’ businesses operate and plenty of room to expand your skills.

What you’ll be doing

- Processing end-to-end payroll across a wide variety of clients (weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles)

- Ensuring compliance with Modern Awards, enterprise agreements, Fair Work requirements and Single Touch Payroll

- Managing superannuation, PAYG withholding, leave entitlements, onboarding and terminations





- Preparing payroll tax returns and assisting with end-of-financial-year finalisation

- Being a friendly, reliable point of contact for client payroll queries

- Assisting with client bookkeeping, including reconciliations and BAS preparation support

- Supporting our business services team with a range of client work

About you

- Previous payroll experience

- Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and STP reporting

- Experience with cloud software such as Xero, MYOB or Employment Hero

- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing deadlines

- Solid communication skills and a genuine enjoyment of working with clients

- Bookkeeping experience is a bonus, though a willingness to learn is just as valued
