The Role: Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer will play an important role in supporting the accurate and timely delivery of the fortnightly payroll. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will help maintain payroll compliance, ensure employee records are accurate and provide a high standard of service to employees across the organisation.

Key responsibilities: · Processing fortnightly payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and within required deadlines

· Managing payroll transactions, including new starters, terminations, employment changes, leave adjustments, allowances and salary packaging

· Reviewing payroll data and resolving discrepancies prior to finalising pay runs

· Interpreting Modern Awards and ensuring payroll practices align with relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements and organisational policies

· Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity between HR and payroll systems

· Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and managers in a professional and timely manner

· Preparing payroll reports, reconciliations and supporting documentation for month-end, year-end and audit requirements

· Liaising with internal teams and external providers regarding superannuation, workers' compensation, child support and other payroll matters

· Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy and efficiency

Candidate Profile: To be successful in this position, you will have previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation,



a strong understanding of Australian payroll requirements and a genuine commitment to accuracy and customer service.

Skills & Experience: · Demonstrated experience processing payroll, with a sound understanding of end-to-end payroll functions

· Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and experience interpreting Modern Awards

· Experience using payroll and HRIS systems, with Micropay and Employee Connect highly regarded

· Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and strong administrative capabilities

· Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies

· Clear communication skills and the confidence to manage employee payroll enquiries

· A high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee information

· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

· A collaborative and proactive approach, with a genuine interest in contributing to a purpose-led organisation

· Australian citizenship or permanent residency

Experience with the SCHADS Award, AMER Award or within the not-for-profit, disability, aged care or community services sectors will be highly regarded.
