Job description

The Role

We are seeking a reliable and practically minded Machinery Maintenance Hand to support a busy maintenance team at an almond orchard operation in Kenley, VIC. In this role, you’ll work alongside the mechanics to service, repair and maintain orchard machinery and equipment. Your time will be split between the workshop and the orchard. The role suits someone with mechanical aptitude, agricultural experience and a strong focus on safe work.

For the right candidate, this position offers the potential for ongoing employment and further development in agricultural machinery maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the maintenance team with day-to-day servicing, repairs and equipment preparation to help keep orchard operations running safely and efficiently. The role requires a practical approach, positive communication and a willingness to assist across a range of maintenance activities.

- Assist mechanics with servicing and repairing almond orchard machinery
- Complete general maintenance tasks around the workshop and orchard
- Help prepare machinery and equipment for seasonal operations
- Conduct basic equipment checks and identify potential maintenance issues
- Clean machinery, equipment and workshop areas as required
- Assist with basic repairs and maintenance under direction
- Report faults,



damage or maintenance concerns to the appropriate team member
- Maintain a clean, protected and organised workshop environment
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members, including via radio
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Complete other general maintenance and orchard duties as required

Benefits

Your Skills & Experience

- Previous experience working in an agricultural or farming workplace
- Maintenance, mechanical or machinery-related experience
- Practical mechanical aptitude and confidence working around agricultural equipment
- Willing and able to work extended hours during peak seasonal periods
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a maintenance team
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
