MPC Solutions Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Mechanical Planner / Shutdown Planner for an immediate start at an established gold mining operation in Western Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance planning professional to join a busy gold processing operation, coordinating planned maintenance and shutdown activities across critical fixed plant infrastructure.

We are looking for someone with strong mechanical maintenance knowledge, excellent planning skills and hands-on experience in mineral processing environments.

- Roster: 8 days on / 6 days off.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, coordinate and maintain detailed fixed plant maintenance and shutdown plans.

- Prepare maintenance work packs, job scopes, labour estimates and material requirements.

- Plan maintenance activities for crushers, SAG and ball mills, conveyors, screens, pumps, gearboxes and associated processing equipment.

- Coordinate shutdown schedules, contractors, equipment, materials and specialist services.

- Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure maintenance activities are properly planned and executed.





- Review maintenance backlogs and prioritise work orders to improve plant reliability and availability.

- Ensure spare parts, tooling, equipment and resources are available ahead of planned maintenance.

- Develop shutdown schedules using Pronto, Microsoft Project or similar planning systems.

- Assist with shutdown budgeting, cost tracking and resource allocation.

- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency, minimise downtime and optimise plant performance.

- Participate in shutdown reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Ensure all planning activities comply with site safety procedures and isolation requirements.

Essential Requirements

- Previous experience as a Fixed Plant Mechanical Planner or Shutdown Planner within mining or mineral processing.

- Robust understanding of fixed plant mechanical maintenance.

- Experience planning maintenance activities involving crushers, mills, conveyors, screens, pumps and associated equipment.

- Demonstrated experience developing maintenance work packs, job scopes and shutdown schedules.

- Experience using Pronto or similar CMMS software.

- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance, breakdown maintenance and shutdown planning.

- Excellent organisational,



communication and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to coordinate contractors, materials and maintenance resources.

- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

- Current Australian driver's licence.

- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

- Full Australian working rights – essential.

Highly Regarded:

- Mechanical Fitter trade qualification or relevant engineering qualification.

- Previous experience working in gold processing plants.

- Experience with Pronto, SAP, Microsoft Project or Primavera.

- Previous FIFO mining experience.

- Strong understanding of fixed plant reliability and maintenance strategies.

- Experience coordinating major processing plant shutdowns.
