Our client is a leading Australian steel manufacturer, producing a diverse range of steel products including reinforcing bars, angles, and channels. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Laverton North, the site includes a Melt Shop, Bar Mill, Rod Mill, Billet Yard, Warehouse, and Maintenance departments.

With a solid commitment to safety, innovation, and operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced A Grade Electrician to join their maintenance team.

About the Role

As an A Grade Electrician, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving plant reliability across a large-scale manufacturing operation. Working within a skilled maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of electrical equipment and production machinery.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults to minimize production downtime.
- Support the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Carry out machinery servicing and performance optimization.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams.
- Assist with electrical installations, upgrades, and equipment modifications.




- Complete maintenance documentation and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and site standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess robust industrial electrical experience and a proactive approach to maintenance and fault finding.

Skills & Experience

- Minimum 5 years' experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industry environment.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with both Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) systems.
- Motor control wiring and fault-finding experience.
- PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and leadership qualities.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and committed to high-quality workmanship.
- Australian-recognised Electrical Trade Qualification.
- Current Victorian A Grade Electrical License.
- Flexibility to work across various shifts as required.

Desirable Qualifications

- Confined Space Entry certification.
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) license.
- Electrical switching certification.
