The Plant Operator - Water Truck is responsible for undertaking maintenance and construction duties through the skilled operation of Council's plant fleet. This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council.
Key responsibilities
- Providing a high standard of operating skills on civil construction and maintaining plant and other equipment
- Communicating effectively to ensure an understanding in maintaining assigned equipment
- Completing allocated tasks consistently within agreed time frames
- Being aware and adhering to protected work practices to ensure all risks are minimised
About you
- Verification of Competency in the operation of various types of plant and equipment
- Servicing minor repairs and pre-start inspection of various types of earthmoving equipment
- Operation of various types of mechanical or electrical hand tools and equipment in Construction and Maintenance Works
- Operating various civil construction plant to the required tolerances with due regard to the presence of services
- Maintaining harmony within a team and fostering good working relationships with all Council employees, public and visitors
