About Us

Civilcast is an Australian-owned, fast-growing manufacturer of precast concrete, polymer and steel infrastructure products. We’re growing in Queensland, and getting our range approved for TMR and councils is how we win specification there. We’re after a civil/structural engineer who knows TMR approvals inside out and wants to be the technical go-to for our QLD business.

The Role

As Product Technical Lead – QLD, you’ll own product approvals for Queensland, with a primary focus on the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). That means working out where our range falls short of TMR specifications and standard drawings, adapting or developing products to close those gaps, and seeing submissions through to final approval or registration. You’ll also secure approvals with local councils and other government departments.

You’ll be the technical expert for our QLD branch, its customers and the design community. You’ll work closely with NPD, our Cowra manufacturing team, Quality and Sales to get Civilcast products specified into designs, tenders and projects.

Location

This role is based in Queensland atStapyltonwill require travel within QLD and interstate, including to our Cowra manufacturing site.

What You’ll Own

- TMR product submissions from gap assessment through to approval, including drawings, design calculations, test reports and quality records;
- Approvals with QLD councils and government departments, plus an approvals register that tracks renewals and conditions;




- Product testing, including load testing through NATA-accredited laboratories, with technical data sheets and installation guides to match;
- Technical advice for our QLD sales team, contractors, consultants and designers.

What You’ll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or a related field (significant relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree);
- 5+ years’ experience in civil infrastructure products, precast manufacturing, a road authority or a design consultancy;
- Demonstrated experience with TMR technical specifications and product approval processes (essential);
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS 3996, AS 4058, AS 1597);
- RPEQ registration or eligibility, and existing relationships with TMR and SEQ councils, highly regarded;
- Clear, accurate technical writing that passes review the first time;
- A “say it straight” communicator who can juggle multiple submissions under tight deadlines;
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
