About the role

Small Talk Speech Pathology is seeking a dedicated paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children requiring speech and language therapy services. Based in Mansfield, VIC 3722, and servicing the wider community, you will deliver high-quality speech pathology services to a diverse caseload, contributing directly to our mission of helping children and adolescents communicate, connect and participate with confidence. This role is integral to our service delivery and allows you to utilise your clinical expertise in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of client’s speech, language, literacy and fluency

- Develop individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals

- Deliver evidence-based speech pathology interventions to clients across various age groups and presenting conditions

- Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as required

- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and documentation in compliance with professional standards

- Communicate effectively with clients, families, caregivers and relevant professionals regarding assessment results and treatment progress

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and holistic client care

- Provide advice and support to clients and families on communication strategies

- Participate in professional development activities and stay current with best practice in speech pathology

What we're looking for





- Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) or eligibility for registration

- Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia

- Sound knowledge of speech, language, voice and fluency disorders in children and adolescents

- Experience working with AAC a bonus

- Demonstrated clinical experience in assessment and treatment of paediatric communication disorders

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations

- Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health records management

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Professional approach to client confidentiality and ethical practice

- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
